A minimum of 25% of the net income from the Hawaii Affiliate of Susan G. Komen® supports the national Susan G. Komen® Grant Program, which funds groundbreaking breast cancer research, meritorious awards and educational and scientific conferences around the world.
Up to 75% stays in the local community to fund breast health education, breast cancer screening and treatment projects.
Brief Summary of Priorities
· To increase education on the importance of breast self-awareness, screenings, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle among women and men with low social economic status throughout the State of Hawaii.
· To remove cultural, linguistics, transportation and economic barriers for screening, diagnostic tests, treatment and follow-up care for women and men with low social economic status throughout the State of Hawaii.
